When millions of dollars of fraudulently obtained US Treasury tax rebate checks were being cashed, Jon was brought in to locate the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Surveillance, multiple interviews and an interagency initiative resulted in identifying and arresting 15 suspects who were sentenced to 48 months in prison and obligated to repay $5M in restitution.

The three were tried on federal charges including conspiracy, passing forged securities, identity theft, mail fraud affecting a financial institution, aggravated identity theft, mail theft, and money laundering – charges that resulted in prison sentences of up to 72 months.
